Khursheed baji is a wife of Ghulam Farid and lives in a city named Pakpattan, Pakistan. Pakpattan city is famous for its historical and pious places. She has been living in this city for the last 8 years. She is the mother of one son named Imran. Imran is 20 years old and runs his hotel, where he sells different types of Punjabi foods (Samosas, Pakoras). He started this business when he was just 15. Her husband is a daily wage labor. Khursheed baji is a housewife and prefers to do household work. She successfully repaid her first loan from Asasah (a microfinance institute of Pakistan). Now she is applying for a loan to buy material (cooking oil, utensils) to expand her son's food business.

She is joined in her loan group by a few more members. Ghulam Fatima baji wants a loan to buy goats to resell. Kanizan baji wants a loan to buy a donkey cart. Sultana baji wants a loan to buy an auto-rickshaw (a local three-wheeled vehicle). Ghafooran baji and Rubina baji each want a loan to buy a buffalo for their milk businesses.

This is a group loan. The loan funds will be distributed among the group members, each of whom will invest in her own business. The members mutually guarantee one another's loans. If one member does not repay, the other members are responsible.
