Hanifan M.ishaq's Group

Hanifan baji is the widow of M.Ishaq and lives in a city named Pakpattan, Pakistan. Pakpattan city is famous for its historical and pious places. Hanifan baji has been living in this city for the last 20 years. She is the mother of four children: three sons and one daughter. Her elder son is a daily wage laborer. The others are enrolled in a local school in her neighborhood. She and her family live with her brother who is a driver by profession. Hanifan baji successfully repaid her first loan from Asasah (a microfinance institute of Pakistan). Now she is applying for a loan to buy an auto-rickshaw (a local three-wheeled motor vehicle).

She is joined in her loan group by a few more members. Nasreen baji wants a loan to buy livestock (goats, cows) to resell. Sharifan baji and Rashida baji each want a loan to buy an auto-rickshaw. Kaniz baji wants a loan to buy a buffalo for her milk business.

This is a group loan. The loan funds will be distributed among the group members, each of whom will invest in her own business. The members mutually guarantee one another's loans. If one member does not repay, the other members are responsible.



About Group Loans
In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a group of individuals bound by a group guarantee.
