This will be Asna's second loan from Tujijenge Tanzania. The first, which she paid back successfully, was used to increase the stock of her shop. With the loan she hopes to receive now, she intends to expand her recently started welding business. She hopes this business will be an additional source of income for her and her family.

Asna is part of subgroup C of the Diamond Group. The members of the group hold each other accountable in paying back their loans. Her fellow group members own general stores, sell clothes, soap, eggs, and fish. In the picture, Asna is on the right.

I am happy to report she is doing extremely well. With the loan Asna received, she improved on the welding business. With the increased stock in her business, her monthly profit rose from $87 to about $90 per month! Asna used the additional profit for household expenses.
