Gideon Tangwan Aboh has completed six successful years with GHAPE, a small NGO in north west Cameroon. He is 42 and has five children.
With previous loans he has expanded his farm, where he grows vegetables and raises pigs. Like some other long-term borrowers in this part of the world, Geoffrey is keen to diversify beyond agriculture.
To that end, he hopes this loan will allow him to set up a 'cold store' in the small village of Njembeng. Specifically, he intends to buy drinks and provisions, as well as invest in a deep freezer and fixtures and fittings for the shop.
He says his site is well located and will help the local community by saving people from having to travel to buy goods.
Gideon hopes the profits of his work will go some way towards the cost of building a family home. He adds that he likes GHAPE because the terms of the loans are fair and "the organisation makes you work hard".
