Darrah Maiga

Madame Darrah Maïga is 53 years old and lives with her four children (three boys and one girl) and her husband in Koko, one of the neighborhoods of Kadiolo (a prefecture of the third-largest economic region of the Republic of Mali). At a young age she started off in the restaurant business, which she learned from her mother for over 20 years. She has been working with the microfinance institution Soro Yiriwaso for four years and is on her third individual loan after having completed seven group loans (solidarity loans) with an association in her neighborhood. All of the previous loans were properly paid back. This loan will be used to purchase 100 kg of rice, 50 kg of peanuts, five bunches of bananas, 100 kg of oranges, two loads of cooking wood, and large quantities of seasonings for a month. She stocks her fruits and vegetables on-site. The rice and seasonings are bought in the various markets in Sikasso or Bamako (the capital of the Republic of Mali) from wholesalers who specialize in the product concerned. She cooks several dishes: "riz au gras" (similar to rice pilaf), rice with tomato sauce, rice with okra and peanuts, meat soups, guinea fowl, chicken, and fish. Her sales site is in the main market in the town of Kadiolo where there are crowds of individuals such as travelers, business people, and drivers. she envisions making a monthly profit of around 80,000 Francs CFA that will be used to contribute to family expenses and the rest will be invested in her business.

Madame Darrah Maïga est âgée de 53 ans et vit avec ses 4 enfants( 3 garçons et 1 fille)et son mari à Koko, un des quartiers de la ville de Kadiolo(une des préfectures de la troisième région économique de la république du Mali).
Dès son jeune âge, elle a commencé les activités économiques notamment la restauration qu’elle a apprise auprès de sa mère depuis maintenant 20 ans. Elle travaille avec l’institution de microfinance Soro Yiriwaso depuis 4 ans et est à son troisième prêt indivuduel, après avoir bouclé sept prêts de groupe ( prêt solidaire) avec une assocaition de son quartier. Tous les prêts précédents ont été correctement remboursés
Ce prêt servira à l’achat de 100 Kilogrammes de riz, 50 kilogrammes d’arachide, 5 régimes de bananes, 100kg de d’oranges, 2 chargements de bois de chauffe et d’importantes quantités de condiments alimentaires pour une période d’un mois.
Elle s’approvisionne sur place( à Kadiolo) en fruits et légumes. Le riz et condiments alimentaires dans les differents marchés de la ville de Sikasso ou de Bamako (capitale de la république du Mali) auprès des grossistes spécialisés des domaines concernés.
Elle prépare plusieurs plats: riz au gras, à la sauce tomate, gombo et arachide, les soupes de viande, de pintade, de poulet et de poisson. Son lieu de vente se trouve au grand marché de la ville de Kadiolo où il ya une grande affluence d’individus comme les voyageurs, les employés de commerce et les routiers.
Elle envisage réaliser un bénéfice mensuel d’environ 80 000 FCFA.qui servira à contribuer aux dépenses familiales et investir le reste dans son activité.
