Naseem Rahmat Masih's Group

Naseem baji lives in Shah Rukn-e-Alam, a part of the city of Multan. Multan is famous for its historical places and handicrafts. She owns a two-room brick house where she has lived for the past 25 years. She is the mother of seven children: two sons and five daughters. Her elder son works in a hospital. The other children are getting their educations. Naseem baji's husband, Rahmat Masih, is a worker in an organization named "Saeed Building."

Naseem baji has a business of selling clothes. She has 20 years of experience. She is applying for a loan to buy more clothes to resell.

She is joined in her loan group by a few more members. Saba baji wants a loan to buy supplies (telephone set and wires) to make a telephone booth. Safia baji wants a loan to buy an auto-rickshaw (a local three-wheeled motor vehicle). Zareena baji wants a loan to buy chickens for her chicken meat business.

This is a group loan. The loan funds will be distributed among the group members, each of whom will invest in her own business. The members mutually guarantee one another's loans. If one member does not repay, the other members are responsible.

In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a group of individuals bound by a group guarantee.
