The committee is comprised of 15 female workers from the town of San Francisco in the city of Caacupe. They are mainly dedicated to the making of Chipas, a local dish of the country. The group is actually in the their seventh cycle of the this program, with its beginning and organization mainly attributed to the work of Mrs. Teresa Martinez, who initially was the coordinator of the group, and in her home organized the very first group meetings.

All are neighbors in this area, and one of the virtues of the committee is to carry on tradition by organizing committee programs. This is demonstrated by their routinely successful repayment rate of their loans. On top of that, they have been able to save thanks to the activities that they hold every weekend offering food, raffles, games, and more. All of the members receive a portion of 833,000 guarani (aprox $200usd), and they invest it into the activities previously mentioned. They all have specific activities that they develop in order to increase their profits, in addition to being homemakers. Among the things that they partake in doing is to be Chipas vendors, which is the most popular activity since 11 of the member partake in the sale of this very popular national dish. Two of them have small stores, and the last two sell clothing.

The committee’s objective in the month of August is to gather all of the children from the neighborhood together for Children’s Day and have a fair for them with games and entertainment.
