Abida M.shoaib's Group

Abida baji is the wife of M.Shoaib and the mother of three children: two sons and one daughter. She belongs to a small city named Chichawatni, Pakistan. She owns a two room brick house and has been living in it for the last 30 years. Her sons are drivers by profession. Her daughter is 16 years old and reads in 10th standard. Abida baji's husband sells Punjabi snacks called "PAPAD". He has been making the snacks for the past 15 years.

Abida baji is a housewife, but she helps her husband by making the snacks. Nowadays, her husband is out of stock. Therefore, Abida baji is applying for a loan to buy materials (flour, cooking oil) to expand her husband's business.

She is joined in her loan group by a few more members. Zuhra baji wants a loan to buy fruits to resell. Parveen baji wants a loan to buy cloth to resell. Khalida baji wants a loan to buy a lathe machine. Sugran baji wants a loan to buy wood to resell.

This is a group loan. The loan funds will be distributed among the group members, each of whom will invest in her own business. The members mutually guarantee one another's loans. If one member does not repay, the other members are responsible.

In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a group of individuals bound by a group guarantee.
