Manzooran M.rafiq's Group

Manzooran baji is the wife of M. Rafiq and lives in a city named Arifwala, Pakistan. She owns a two room brick house and has been living in it for the last 15 years. She is the mother of six children: four sons and two daughters. Two of her sons are loaders by profession. The next eldest to them sells sewing machine parts. Her younger son is in kindergarten. Her elder daughter is in 8th standard. The younger one to her is in 5th standard. Manzooran baji's husband has a tea stall where he makes tea for the customers. He has been in this profession for the last 5 years. Manzooran baji is a housewife and prefers to do household work and taking care of her children. She is applying for a loan to buy materials (tea, sugar) because her husband is out of stock now.

She is joined in her loan group by a few more members. Sabra baji wants a loan to buy shoes for her shoe selling business. Farida baji wants a loan to buy religious books to resell.

This is a group loan. The loan funds will be distributed among the group members, each of whom will invest in her own business. The members mutually guarantee one another's loans. If one member does not repay, the other members are responsible.

In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a group of individuals bound by a group guarantee.
