Zikran Naik Muhammad's Group

Zikran baji is the wife of Naik Muhammad and lives in a small city named Arifwala, Pakistan. She has been living in this city for the last 40 years. She is the mother of eight children: four sons and four daughters. Her elder son is a washer man. The next eldest son runs a grocery shop. Her elder daughter sews clothes. The others are enrolled in a local school in her neighborhood. Her husband is a wholesaler.

Zikran baji is a housewife and prefers to do household work. She successfully completed her two loans from Asasah (a microfinance institute of Pakistan). Now she is applying for a loan to buy groceries for her son's grocery shop.

She is joined in her loan group by a few more members. Rashidan baji wants a loan to buy mason tools. Farhat baji wants a loan to buy materials (iron rods) for her welding business. Manzooran baji wants a loan to buy vegetables to resell. Latifan baji wants a loan to buy groceries for her grocery shop.

This is a group loan. The loan funds will be distributed among the group members, each of whom will invest in her own business. The members mutually guarantee one another's loans. If one member does not repay, the other members are responsible.



About Group Loans
In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a group of individuals bound by a group guarantee.
