Sugran M.sharif's Group

Sugran baji is the wife of M.Sharif and lives in a small city named Arifwala, Pakistan. She has been living in this city for the last 30 years. She is the mother of two sons. Her elder son is a tailor. The next eldest son sells Punjabi food named "Biryani". Her husband is a milk seller and has been in this profession for the last 10 years. Sugran baji has a stove where he makes bread on order. Sugran baji successfully completed her two loans from Asasah (a microfinance institute of Pakistan). She bought buffalo from the two loans. Now she is applying for a loan to buy another buffalo to expand her husband's milk business.

She is joined in her loan group by a few more members. Safia baji and Zuhra baji each want a loan to buy groceries for their grocery shop. Fozia baji wants a loan to expand her sweetmeat business. Bashiran baji wants a loan to buy cattle (goat, cow) for her meat business.

This is a group loan. The loan funds will be distributed among the group members, each of whom will invest in her own business. The members mutually guarantee one another's loans. If one member does not repay, the other members are responsible.



About Group Loans
In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a group of individuals bound by a group guarantee.
