Live in a village and work as farmer is not an easy way. One should work very hard, with uncertain result. To increase their income, some farmers choose to breed cattle. The activity is also done by several house wives in Dsn. Sari Kuning, Tukadaya Village, West Bali. They do the business in a group with 15 members. The group is managed by 3 committees whose responsible to coordinate the members in running the business. All the members do the same business: to breed pigs.


Doing the business in a group, let them to earn capital easier, and within the group they are able to help each other. The loan from KIVA through DINARI, which is IDR 1,000,000 for each member, will be deployed to purchase high quality fodder and piglets for a period (6 months). The additional capital and assistance from DINARI, are expected to be able to increase the business. All of the members are sure that their income will increase, that they will be able to improve their family's economic condition.

Hidup di desa dan bekerja sebagai petani ternyata tidak mudah, butuh kerja keras namun terkadang hasilnya tidak makssimal. Untuk menambah penghasilan mereka ada beberapa petani yang memilih untuk beternak. Hal ini juga dilakukan oleh sekelompok ibu-ibu yang berada di Dsn. Sari Kuning, Ds. Tukadaya, Bali Barat. Kelompok ini terdiri dari 15 anggota dan memiliki 3 orang pengurus yang bertanggung jawab untuk mengkoordinir kelompok tersebut dalam menjalankan usaha mereka. Semua anggota kelompok memiliki usaha yang sama yaitu sebagai peternak babi.
Keunggulan dari usaha beternak secara berkelompok adalah memudahkan mereka dalam mendapatkan modal usaha serta mereka saling menbantu dalam menjalankan usaha ternak mereka. Pinjaman yang diperoleh dari KIVA melalui DINARI sebesar Rp. 1.000.000,- per anggota dipergunakan sebagai tambahan modal usaha yaitu untuk membeli pakan yang berkualitas dan membeli bibit yang akan dipelihara selama satu kali periode pemeliharaan (6 bulan).
Dengan mendapat tambahan modal serta pendampingan dari DINARI kelompok ini mulai mengalami peningkatan dalam usaha dan mereka sangat yakin akan mendapatkan hasil yang lebih baik sehingga ekonomi keluarga merekapun bisa lebih baik dari sekarang.

the group had finished repaid the loan together because they had sold the pigs together. after take care the pigs and have controlling from the veteriner, they can grow the pigs well. the weights of the pigs about 90 until 100 kg and the price is Rp. 15.000.- per kg. each of them have 3 until 4 pigs. because they member of the group, they buy and sold the pigs together so they can paid the loan together. now they become more properous then before because they have more income for their family. they can buy good quality food for they family and also can fixed their house to better living. they also can saving the profit to support their children education. the group have a plan to get another loan again because they want to increase population of the pig. they want to run this business seriously not just part time job
