Razia Nazir Ahmad's Group

Razia baji is married to Nazir Ahmad and lives in a small city called Chichawatni, in Pakistan. She is the mother of five sons and two daughters. Her eldest son operates a tractor; the other runs his own food business and a small hotel. Razia is a housewife and prefers to care for the household. She has successfully completed her first loan from Asasah, a microfinance institute in Pakistan. She is now applying for her second loan to purchase more materials such as oil, rice, and lentils to support her son’s food business.

Razia also has additional members in her loan group. They would like to purchase various items, such as wood, fruits, and a sewing machine to power their own businesses.

This is a group loan. The loan funds will be distributed among the group members, and be used to support each respective business. All of the group members support one another- if one of them fails to repay, the others are responsible and will contribute to the group total.




About Group Loans
In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a group of individuals bound by a group guarantee.
