Farhat M.saeed's Group

Farhat Shahbaz baji is the wife of M.Saeed. She lives in the small city of Kasur, in Pakistan. She owns a two room brick house and has been living in it for the last 15 years. Farhat baji is a mother of three children: one son and two daughters. All of her children are enrolled in a local school in her neighborhood. Her husband has a electronics shop where he sells stoves and washing machines. Farhat baji is a housewife and also sews clothes for her neighbors. Farhat baji successfully completed her first loan from Asasah (a microfinance institute in Pakistan). Now she is applying for a loan to buy more stoves and washing machines for her husband's electronics shop.

Farhat baji is joined in her loan group by a few more members. Shaheen baji and Hamidan baji each want a loan to buy thread to resell. Amna baji wants a loan to buy decorative embroidery material (thread and cloth). Sakina baji wants a loan to buy woods to resell.

This is a group loan. The loan funds will be distributed among the group members, each of whom will invest in her own business. The members mutually guarantee one another's loans. If one member does not repay, the other members are responsible.



About Group Loans
In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a group of individuals bound by a group guarantee.
