Saeeda Muhammad Arshad's Group

Saeeda bibi is the wife of Muhammad Arshad. She has been living in Multan, Pakistan for the last one and a half years. Her husband makes and sells furniture. She is a housewife, but she sews clothes for her neighbors. Saeeda bibi collects good profits from this business. She has a son who is just 8 months old. Her husband's furniture business is also a profitable business. She successfully completed two loans from Asasah (a microfinance institute of Pakistan). Now she is applying for a loan to buy wood to expand her husband's business.

She is joined in her loan group by a few more members. Nighat Seema baji wants a loan to buy more fruits to resell. Yasmeen baji wants a loan for her husband who makes and sells handmade items. She will use the loan to buy a molding machine.

This is a group loan. The loan funds will be distributed among the group members, each of whom will invest in her own business. The members mutually guarantee one another's loans. If one member does not repay, the other members are responsible.

In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a group of individuals bound by a group guarantee.
