Sugran Tahir Hussain's Group

Sugran baji's husband runs a grocery shop. She helps him in this business. She has no children. Her husband chose this profession because there is no other grocery shop in the colony. She collects good profits from this business. She successfully completed two loans from Asasah (a microfinance institute of Pakistan). Now she is applying for a loan to diversify the goods she sells in her grocery shop by adding more goods such as lentils, cooking oil and rice.

She is joined in her loan group by a few more members. Rani baji wants a loan to buy more clothes for her cloth business. Anwari baji wants a loan to buy more garments for her garment business. Sultana baji wants a loan to buy spices for her nimko business. Saira baji wants a loan to buy more clothes for her cloth business.

This is a group loan. The loan funds will be distributed among the group members, each of whom will invest in her own business. The members mutually guarantee one another's loans. If one member does not repay, the other members are responsible.



About Group Loans
In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a group of individuals bound by a group guarantee.
