Afia Mmra

Afia, a 50 year old woman, is married with six children. One is currently in school and five have graduated. Afia is a resourceful mother. She works with the motivation of wanting to support her children's education to provide them with better lives and future careers. She owns and operates a grocery shop in one of the busy local markets and sells items like rice, sugar, vegetable oil, bottled water, canned foods, peanuts, evaporated milk, etc. Afia wants to use the loan to buy more bags of rice and sugar, cartons of evaporated milk, cartons of vegetable oil, etc. to increase her stock. She hopes to use part of her profit to finance her accommodation project. She is a member of a community group called God's Love Trust Group. Members in this group guarantee for one another as social collateral to repay the loan. Afia was joined by her husband as she took the photograph.
