Amiran Muhammad Yaar's Group

Amiran baji is a wife of Muhammad Yaar and lives in a city named Arifwala, Pakistan. Amiran baji couldn't get an education due to poor financial conditions. She owns a two-room house and has been living in it for the last 10 years. She is the mother of four children: three sons and one daughter. Her elder sons make decoratively embroidered clothes. Her younger son and daughter are enrolled in a local school in her neighborhood. Amiran baji is a housewife. Her husband sells popcorn and has been in this profession for the last 12 years. Amiran baji successfully completed her two loans from Asasah (a microfinance institute of Pakistan). Now she is applying for a loan to buy another popcorn machine to expand her husband's business.

She is joined in her loan group by a few more members. Waziran baji requests a loan to buy cloth for her garment business. Naziran baji and Rushda baji each are requesting a loan to buy more fruits to sell. Shamim baji requests a loan to buy an auto-rickshaw (a local three-wheel vehicle).

This is a group loan. The loan funds will be distributed among the group members, each of whom will invest in her own business. The members mutually guarantee one another's loans. If one member does not repay, the other members are responsible.



About Group Loans
In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a group of individuals bound by a group guarantee.
