Nagina Muhammad Yunas's Group

Nagina baji is the wife of Muhammad Yunas and lives in the city of Borewala, Pakistan. She owns a two room brick house where she has lived for the past 3 years. She is the mother of six children: four sons and two daughters. Her two elder sons work in a marble factory. The next eldest to them has a butcher business. Her youngest son is in 7th standard. Her two daughters are in 8th standard (level). Her husband has a Punjabi food (samosas) business and has been in this profession for the last 3 years. Nagina baji successfully completed her two loans from Asasah (a microfinance institute of Pakistan). Now she is applying for a loan for her husband so that he can buy more goods for making the food.

She is joined in her loan group by a few more members: Shahnaz baji and Ruqaiya baji each want a loan to buy thread for their carpet weaving businesses; Zubaida baji wants a loan to produce ceiling material; and Haleema baji wants a loan to buy more plants for her plants business.

This is a group loan. The loan funds will be distributed among the group members, each of whom will invest in her own business. The members mutually guarantee one another's loans. If one member does not repay, the other members are responsible.



About Group Loans
In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a group of individuals bound by a group guarantee.
