Diana Fri Bah

Diana Fri Bah was born in 1960. She is a widow and the mother of 3 children. Poverty due to lack of education, insufficient resources to learn a trade, the death of her father who was doing odd jobs like clearing of farms in order to raise daily income for the family, and the death of her husband, which was a great shock, have made her life extremely difficult.

She was motivated by all these circumstances to become a member of GHAPE in 2005. GHAPE trained her how to start a business and manage it. She has already successfully managed loans amounting to $120 in which she invested in buying and selling palm oil, raising animals like pigs and poultry, and farming crops like cassava. She was able to use the profit from these loans to barter for the school needs of her children, clothing, and some basic necessities for her family.

Diana is now requesting a loan of $725, which she plans to invest in growing cassava, raising pigs and poultry, and buying and selling palm oil. She says her business is going to succeed because she has been farming since the age of five when her parents began to teach her. In addition, she has enough land for farming and rearing animals, and the demand for them is high.

She plans to repay this loan in 18 months and the first installment repayment begins four months after disbursement.
