Ms. Rosa Dishmey has accessed loans from Esperanza for four years. She has operated her business for five years. She owns a fruit shop where she sells items ranging from bananas to melons. Although she started business a year prior to receiving her first loan, her business needed a strong financial boost from Esperanza. Her loans are currently used to purchase the fruit that she sells. She is an avid member of her church and also enjoys going to the nearby beach and dancing. Her favorite food is fried fish. Rosa hopes to expand her business by beginning to sell more items such as chicken. This will increase her income and allow her to better provide for herself and her family.

Ms. Rosa Dishmey is a member of a 5 person group (Group 4) that is part of a 35 person micro-bank called Miramar Feminina. In the picture, Ms. Dishmey is first on the left. She is pictured with her group members and other members of the micro-bank.

Rosa's story is just one of a list of men and women who are improving their quality of life through the help of Esperanza's micro-credit loans. This group has united with a common vision of a better life with faith and hope in their hearts and an unbreakable spirit. Each associates in this bank has a similar business, whether it is selling fruit or operating a taxi service. Thank you for your support.

I am happy to write that Rosa Dishmey has finished repayments on her tenth loan from Esperanza. After successfully, repaying her first nine loans this should come as no surprise, because at no point during her days with Esperanza has she ever had a problem investing in her business and realizing profits to pay back her loan.

She has been thriving in the organic medicine business. This may seem as a strange business to be in, but Rosa swears by its success. She recognized there was a demand for these medicines, but there were very few sellers. This seemed very strange to her because the products are expensive, and there were opportunities for a substantial profit. She became part of this industry and has never looked back. It is a true testament of her ingenuity as an entrepreneur.

As always, she is looking for ways to invest and grow her business, and she is very optimistic for the future. One of the major affects of her business growth has been the addition of several necessities for her home. Proudly, she told me she had installed a freezer, which was a big step for her. She has also added some minor things such as curtains and a fan to make her home more comfortable. It is very exciting to listen to stories such as hers and see the positive effect these loans are having on people like her.
