Ruqaiya M.hanif's Group

Ruqaiya baji is the wife of Muhammad Hanif and lives in Kot Radha Kishan, Pakistan. She has ten children, and her husband is a land owner and farmer. Ruqaiya baji and her older daughter make a living sewing clothes and doing embroidery. Ruqaiya has successfully repaid four loans from Asasah (a microfinance institute in Pakistan). Now she is applying for a new loan for her husband, who wants to buy another buffalo to increase his production of milk.

Ruquiya is making this application with three other people. Hafizan baji, Jamila baji and Nusrat baji each want a loan to buy a buffalo for their own milk-producing businesses.

This is a group loan, and funds will be distributed among the members, each of whom will invest in her own business. The members mutually guarantee one another's loans. If one member does not repay, the other members are responsible.

In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a group of individuals bound by a group guarantee.
