Mambo from Mbeya, Tanzania and from SELFINA! Thank you for your loan through Kiva to Jane Mbuhwe, a SELFINA client and micro-entrepreneur. The purpose of this journal is to update you on Jane and the status of her business.

As you know, your generosity helped Jane obtain a loan of $350 in August 2008. She is running a grocery business and used the loan to purchase more stock of beer and soft drinks for her business She works at her business for 12 hours per day, 7 days per week. Since she took out the loan, her business has been doing well and Jane’s monthly profits have increased from about $240 to approximately $300. She has used these extra profits to successfully repay her loan as well as paying school fees of her children, and better food for her family

On the personal front, her family is doing well. She is married and has 3 children. Jane dreams about being able to continue to send her children to school and to have more children.
