Mambo (Greetings!) from Mbeya , Tanzania and from SELFINA! Thank you for your loan through Kiva to Mwaji Mwashubila, a SELFINA client and micro-entrepreneur. The purpose of this journal is to update you on Mwaji and the status of her business.

As you know, your generosity helped Mwaji obtain a loan of $1,050 in August 2008. She is running a Hotel business and used the loan to open another new businesses..

She works at her business for 16 hours per day, 7 days per week. Since she took out the loan, her business has been doing well and Mwaji’s monthly profits have increased from about 100USD to approximately 210USD. She has used these extra profits to increase her sales and profit from her business, to pay electricity and water bills, to pay for her workers and to buy more better food for her family

On the personal front, her family is doing well. As you may remember, she is married and has one child. Mwaji dreams about being able to continue to send her children to school. SELFINA aims to continue to assist Mwaji and other women like her, and empower them towards financial security and increased confidence through microloans. Thank you very much for supporting Mwaji!
