The members of Mougnou group, with an average age of 30 and 6 children on average, live in traditional extended families in the village of Sikouna 1, Sub-prefecture of Fana (Koulikoro Region, Republic of Mali).

The group sells various items: cigarettes, tea, clothing, condiments (smoked fish, dried fish, spices, etc.)

They are essentially bound by ties of neighborhood, similar age, and friendship.

The solidarity of the group being firm, the members of Mougnou have decided to work together with the micro-finance institution Soro Yiriwaso which has approved their first group loan this month.

They do their purchasing from wholesalers who come from Bamako and Ségou to market days in Marka coungo. They sell their goods either from home or at the market or as ambulant salespeople. Their sales are generally retail and on a cash basis.

The members of the group intend to buy 25 kg of fish, 5 kg of spices, packets of tea, a carton of cigarettes and some clothing items. With this loan, they hope to make a profit of 7500 FCFA which will be used essentially for reinvesting in their businesses.

PREMIER ET DERNIER FEED BACK

Entrepreneur: Mougnou (patience) Group
