Mrs. Andrea is 63 years old and was born on November 29, 1945. She studied through 5th grade and speaks both Spanish and the native language of Aymara. She is currently separated from her husband; she has six children of which only one is currently studying. The others are all grown with their own families. She owns her own home with all basic services (light, water, etc.) on Ejercito Avenue in the Yunguyo province.

Andrea used to work selling clothing for adults and youth but she struggled to sell it. Selling just one item seemed to take forever. She began knitting clothing for babies (sweaters, sleepwear) which she was able to sell very easily so she changed her inventory. Now, she sells clothing for children (cotton t-shirts, wool sweaters, small socks, dresses, shirts, and pants) in the markets of Chacachaca, Huapaca, and Yunguyo.

She is also a designer; she makes clothes for cold-weather such as vests, pants, and ponchos for children. She is a member of the “Villa Copacaban” village bank where she first received a loan of $125 in order to buy sweaters, pants, and hats for babies. With this $1,050 loan which she will repay in 3 months, she plans to purchase wholesale clothing for babies.

She is very grateful for her loans which helps her substantially in her business and improve her earnings. She hopes that one day her daughters will become professionals and that they will have a clothing factory.
