Vicente's Kiva loan

Entrepreneur: Vicente
Location: Location Undisclosed, Bolivia

Vicente and his wife Nancy used their Kiva loan to buy a flat-screen computer for their oldest daughter, who is currently finishing up her university studies in biochemistry.* Their daughter has one more year of school left, after which she plans to go to Santa Cruz (a large city about an hour away from the family’s home near the town of Minero) to look for work. The computer helped her write up her lab reports and do other homework for school and for her internship.

Nancy tells me that she likes taking loans out from AgroCapital because, unlike other local banks, the process is easy and she can get the money she needs quickly. She and her husband have a good relationship with their loan officer, Juan Carlos, and he always helps facilitate the process for them.

After they repay this loan, the couple is considering taking out another loan to use to build a house on a plot of land they own. Nancy would like to have another house to give to her children some day.

*Note: Vicente's Kiva profile misstated the number and ages of his children.
