Encarna belongs to the communal bank “Las Divinas”, located in the Calleria district of Ucayali. She is 62 years old and has six children. Her husband is a salesman, but his income is not enough to meet their monthly expenses. It’s for this reason that Encarna, with the first loan of S/. 300 from Manuela Ramos, decided to invest in a small general store.

She currently has her grocery store, for which she rises at 7 am to fix breakfast for her children and husband, after which she tends to her store until 8 pm.

With this loan of S/. 2,000, to be repaid in six months, Encarna bought two sacks of rice, one sack of sugar, to boxes of milk, noodles, eggs, vegetables, oil, etc.

Encarna is very proud of herself because she has learned to manage her finances and conduct her business well given her desire and effort continue with the sole wish of supporting her children in their educations and to provide them with a better standard of living. She is very glad for the support provided by Manuela Ramos.
