Loan Update Entrepreneur: Hem Roeun Location: Prey Veng Province, Cambodia Hem Roeun, 54, lives with her husband and one of her five children in Prey Veng, Cambodia. Hem and her husband sell rice. Hem requested a loan so she could purchase a small truck to transport rice. Hem previously completed a loan with Kiva to purchase fertilizers and seeds, which you can view here. A CREDIT MFI loan officer recently visited Hem to check on her progress. After receiving her loan, Hem used the money to purchase a tractor-trailer, which has helped the family farm more efficiently. As a result, family income has increased, and their standard of living has significantly improved. In the future, Hem wants to take out another loan so she can purchase more farming tools to make working even easier. When asked, Hem said she was thankful to CREDIT for its good service, and to Kiva lenders for supporting her loan.
