She used her 5th loan to buy rice, vegetable oil, corn, and gari, or manioc flour. She has felt an improvement in her business since she started receiving loans. However, with the rise in food prices, she has been forced to buy her goods at a higher price and has had trouble making a profit from her sales. She uses her revenues to support her two children and herself and to keep up her business. She would like to buy her goods at the source from the market at Houegbe in the future, so she can eliminate the middleman’s higher prices at her current market.
