Haja Koroma is the group leader of Tawopaneh Multipurpose group. She sells local products such as rice and palm oil in the market of Magburaka town in Sierra Leone. At the age of 49, Haja has nine children, and she has to work hard to meet their needs. Her husband is a teacher whose salary is insufficient to meet all the family expenses, so Haja's business income supplements their expenses. Adama and Hassanatu also sell local products in the same market, and Sallamatu owns a small grocery stall. The goup would like to increase their stock and is therefore requesting a loan of $850.

A Journal Update for Tawopaneh Multipurpose

Entrepreneur: Tawopaneh Multipurpose Group
Location: Magburaka, Tonkolili, Sierra Leone

Greetings are coming to you from Haja Koroma (left), leader of the Tawopaneh Multipurpose group. Haja speaking on behalf of the group sends a lot of thanks and gratitude for the help given to their group. The loan they received, she told me, has made a tremendous boost in the businesses and personal lives of members of this group. Haja for example has been able to build herself a store at the Makeni-Kono highway with loans from SMT/Kiva. In her store she sells drinks, breads, biscuits and provisions. On the other side of the store, she sells cooked rice. Consequently, Haja’s income has improved and so is her standard of living too. She can provide better meals for her children, at least three time a day, send them to school and solve most of her daily financial challenges. Haja on behalf of the group sends a lot of thanks to you for the good will gesture extended to her. SMT too joins Tawopaneh group in saying THANK YOU for the help given to our clients. Please continue giving out your support to our clients.
