Kem Sok Heoung

Thank you for your loan. It has been disbursed to Kem Sok Heoung by CREDIT, a partner of World Relief in Cambodia. We are excited to watch this business grow. Over the next 18 months, CREDIT, a partner of World Relief will be collecting repayments from this entrepreneur and posting progress updates on the Kiva website.

Kem Sok Heoung, 27, lives with her husband and two children in Kampong Cham, Cambodia. Kem runs a grocery shop, and her husband is a police officer. At the time they applied for a loan, they made $3 and $1.50 a day, respectively. Kem asked for a loan so she could expand her grocery shop.

Kem has previously taken a loan with CREDIT MFI through Kiva to purchase a motorbike for her transportation needs. Please view the loan here

A CREDIT MFI loan officer recently visited Kem to check on her progress. After receiving her loan, Kem invested in her pig-raising business (by purchasing feed), as well as her grocery store. She says that her income has remained about the same as before, but she was able to save enough to purchase a second-hand motorbike for her family's transportation needs.

When asked, Kem said she was thankful to CREDIT for its good service, and to Kiva lenders for supporting her loans.
