Sumera M.afzal's Group

Sumera is the wife of M.Afzal and lives in the city of Pak Pattan, Pakistan. She has been married for the last 6 years and is the mother of one son named Junaid. Her husband is a sweetmaker and has been in this profession for the last 12 years. Her daily income is $4 to $5. She successfully repaid her first loan from Asasah, a microfinance institute in Pakistan. Now she is applying for a loan for her husband so that he can expand his business.

She has been joined in her loan group by three other women with businesses. Naseem baji wants the loan for her wheat business. Bushra baji wants lthe funds to expand her grocery shop and Zuhran baji will use the finances to expand her wall clock shop.

This is a group loan. The loan funds will be distributed among the group members and each will invest in her own business. The members mutually guarantee one another's loans and if one member does not repay, the other members are responsible.

In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a group of individuals bound by a group guarantee.
