Meena baji successfully completed her first loan from a microfinance institute of Pakistan and is now requesting a second loan for her son so he may expand his paint shop.
She has four other women in her loan group. Kaneezan baji wants loan for her sweatmeat business; Mumtaz baji is requesting a loan to expand her vegetable business; Akbaran baji wants to purchase a sewing machine and Manzooran baji wants to buy an auto-rickshaw.
The loan will be distributed among the group members, each of whom will invest in her business. The members mutually guarantee one another's loans. If one member does not repay, the other members are responsible.

In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a group of individuals bound by a group guarantee.
