The "Villa Antofagasta" group has been part of the Pro-Mujer (Kiva partner) family for a number of years. The group comes from the city of El Alto, Bolivia, and to date have 18 members who have proven to be organized with their loans and internal activities. The majority of the members are married with children, most of whom are either in school or college, although some have had to abandon their studies due to a lack of economic resources. The goal of their parents is to work to generate more income so their children's education can be fulfilled and in this way ensure them a successful future.

There a different types of business within the group, for instance the sale of condiments and spices and the sale of casual clothing, but the principal activity of the members is the making of chompas (sweaters), chalinas (scarves) and other traditional clothing items of the area, which they sell at festival markets in La Paz. The group needs more capital to purchase the high-quality raw materials needed to make these types of articles and thus attract a better clientele and increase their earnings. The sole goal is to improve their economic situation in order to offer their children a better life.
