Every day of the week, Benita Limachi rises very early to go to the bakery to purchase traditional lauchas (very rich sweet bread filled with cheese), and then at 7 a.m. starts offering them hot and fresh on the distinctive streets of the city of El Alto, Bolivia. This is one of the most common activities among the members of "Mujeres del Alba" (Women of the Dawn), who also offer their lauchas in canisters to preserve their freshness. The women say that during the current cold season their sales are better, which is why they'd like to double their output and be able to hire assistants to cover other areas of the city, which well help them generate better earnings. They hope this will help improve the economic situations of their households.

Todos las días de la semana doña Benita se levanta muy temprano, para ir al horno a comprar las tradicionales y riquisimas lauchas (empanadas de queso), luego como a las 7:00am empieza a ofrecerlas muy calentitas, en las distintas calles de la ciudad de El Alto. Esta es una de las actividades más comunes dentro la asociación “Mujeres del Alba“, que al igual que su compañeras ofrecen sus lauchas en unas canastas, para poder conservar el calor de éstas. Ellas afirman que con el actual frío, las ventas son mayores por lo que desean duplicar la adquisición de sus empanadas y poder contratar ayudantes, para abarcar otros lugares de venta, con esto generarían mayores ganancias. Para conseguir estabilidad económica en sus hogares.
