Beatrice Duodu

Beatrice Duodu is forty one years old. She is married with four children who are currently school. She is a food vendor and sells banku. Banku is prepared from milled maize grains, cooked and taken with hot pepper plus fried fish or soup. She does her banku in a unique way. She packages it and sells to her customers at their door step. This strategy has really worked for her because she has lots of regular and new customers daily.

She wants to use the loan to buy more raw materials like bags of maize, meat, fish, vegetables and firewood to further her production. She hopes to raise good income to support her children’s education. She belongs to the community group called “Sore hyiren” (Arise and shine) Trust Group. In this group, members guarantee for one another as social collateral to access loan and peer pressure to repay the loan.
