Aimiti Gafa's Group

This group is from Satupaitea Pitonuu, one of the mostly populated villages in the island of Savaii. The members of the group will be producing traditional Samoan tapa (designed bark cloth). This is the group's first loan and because the members have not had access to this kind of financial support before. Each of them will be taking WST 750 ($305) to their families to start up their small businesses. This is a new start for them and they are willing to run on their own in order to get profit to help out their families.

This is a group loan. The loan funds will be distributed among the group members, each of whom will invest in her own business. The members mutually guarantee one another's loans. If one member does not repay, the other members are responsible.



About Group Loans
In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a group of individuals bound by a group guarantee.
