Journal Update about Kwamina Annan

Entrepreneur: Kwamina Annan
Location: Elmina, Ghana

Kwamina Annan borrowed $500 in order to expand his business as a fish seller. He currently buys from fishermen right off their boats and then sells the products to businesses in the area. Annan says that since he took out the loan, work is improving. He has bought and sold more fish, making more profit as a result. Annan uses this profit to take care of his wife and two children, a 12-year-old girl and a 10-year-old boy, both of whom attend school. Annan himself went to school until class four, the equivalent of fourth grade.

Annan wants to start a poultry farm in the near future and is also saving some of his profits for that. He hopes to take another loan to start his new poultry business while continuing his fish-selling business as well. He currently rents a house but hopes in the long-term to save enough money to build a house for his family.
