Josefina is a 40- yearold woman who lives with her three children in the Barrio of Ginebra Arzerno on the north coast of the Dominican Republic. She has a small business selling watches, and she hopes that in the future she will be a successful and respected business woman. With this loan she will buy more inventory for her business, and will make some cosmetic improvements to her store as well. When she is not working, she enjoys spending time with her children and watching TV. Esperanza is looking forward to seeing this group of women succeed as they take the first step to improving their economic situation.

Loan Progress Update Entrepreneur: Mujeres Esforzadas Group Location: Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic Nery Polan and Mujeres Esforzadas have successfully finished their Kiva loan. Nery is the owner of a business selling soap and natural products in her local community. With her loan, she purchased more items to sell in her store. She said that her business improved a lot because of the loan and that she was able to sell more and earn more through the extra merchandise that she bought. Nery is the mother of five, ranging in age from 16 through 27. She would like to thank all Kiva lenders for their help and express that she is grateful.
