Razia, who was born in 1973, is a mother of 4 children and lives in district 13 of Kabul, Afghanistan.

During the war she started weaving carpets with her 3 sons at home, but due to a lack of materials she wasn't able to complete the carpets. Then she took a 1st cycle loan through AFSG to buy thread, wood, carpet patterns and other materials.

Razia's sons are very quick at weaving carpets. They are able to complete one carpet in six months, after which her husband sells the carpet at the market. Through this process they can make a profit.

Currently, Razia’s business goes on well. She has the business of carpet waving which stared during the war. She and her four children wave carpets and after the completion of it sell it in bazaar. They needed the loan for buying materials required for waving carpets. After the loan they could wave more and good quality carpets that had good income. They are very glad about this process and they all thank Kiva a lot.
