Abdul Qayom lives in a green village in Behsood district of Ningarhar province. He is farmer and mechanic by profession. Qayom has half an acre of land where his farms and house are located.

Mr. Qayom worked on his land growing wheat, onion, and other veggies but he did not have any stock which is uncommon in the rural area. So he thought taking out a loan might be a good idea to purchase a cow and sell the milk and other dairy products to pay back the loan and save the animal for himself. He had also expected his cow would bring a baby. Very same thing is happening right now. Qayom is selling milk and yogurt everyday collecting money for the monthly loan repayment and has so far kept a clean record of repayment. In addition, he got milk and yogurt for the family breakfast and lunch. The cow too has recently given birth to a healthy calf. Qayom is gonna keep the beautiful cow for long and will raise and sell the calves.

Mr. Qayom is a mild-speaking polite person. He is a mechanic at the Ningarhar University as well. He has 9 children. One of his sons is married; others go to school and work on the land. One of his daughters is married too, and the two others are house-girls.
