This borrower's group has 15 members who are hard-working women from the San Miguel district in the city of Caacupé. The group is now in the 4th cycle of the Mujeres Emprendedoras (Enterprising Women) program and to date they have an average line of credit of 746.000 gs per member.

The group was created because Amelia learned about the project through an ad in the local media and came to our office where she was given all of the information on the Mujeres Emprendedoras group at Fundación Paraguaya.

Amelia was very quickly able to assemble 15 women, which is the minimum number of members required to form a group, and after going through the training sessions she established this group of working women who have hopes to progress. Today it is obvious that the women are very happy to be a part of her group and that the group's members all come from the same district.

The group's main goal is to capitalize on their internal savings as soon as possible through their businesses that provide income such as making food, running raffles and other businesses. This will enable them to have extra money to pay their dues in case anything sudden happens that will prevent them from paying.

They will invest the loans that they receive in the purchase of products to make chipas (local food that is very commonly eaten in Paraguay) such as starch, oil, cheese and also to purchase, herbs, sugar, soft drinks and another group of them who sell clothing need the loans to purchase used clothing wholesale because this enables them to get lower prices.
