Business is going well!

Entrepreneur: Tailelei Siaosi
Location: Maagiagi, Samoa

Tailelei lives in Magiagi-K2, the village that controls the source of Apia’s (the capital city of Samoa) water. As such she does not have to pay any water or electricity fees, substantially reducing her cost of living. Since 2003 Tailelei has made banana chips. She sells banana chip packets to students in front of the National University of Samoa for three days each week. Six months ago Tailelei opened a convenience store by taking out an SPBD loan. With the help of her husband the store is open six days a week, selling food such as noodles and canned products. She has four school aged children. The store makes over 100 Tala (44 USD) each week, which helps to buy food for her family, and pay for her children’s school fees.
