Sajida Abdul Sattar's Group

Sajida Baji, wife of Abdul Sattar, has been living in a the city of Chichawatni, Pakistan for the last 30 years. She is a mother of six children: four sons and two daughters. All her children are currently attending school. Her husband is a trader while Sajida is a teacher. She gives stitching and embroidery classes to her neighbors on a monthly basis. She would like apply for a loan to expand her husband’s wheat business again. Previously, she successfully completed her first loan that she borrowed from Asasah, a microfinance institute of Pakistan. With her first loan, she bought wheat and earned sufficient profit to buy two sewing machines.

Her loan group includes: Razia Baji, who wants to start a grocery shop; Bushra Baji, who wants to expand her grocery shop business; Irshad Baji, who wants to repair her rickshaw; and Kosar Baji who wants to buy seasonal wheat. This loan will be distributed among the group members, each of whom will invest in her own business. The members mutually guarantee one another's loans. If one member does not repay, the other members are responsible.



About Group Loans
In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a group of individuals bound by a group guarantee.
