Qubra Irshad's Group

Qubra, the wife of Mr. Irshad is the mother of four sons and three daughters. Her husband hasa business making wooden baskets. Due to adverse circumstances her sons couldn’t get education. Qubra's first daughter is married. Her first son drives a rickshaw, the second one works in a paint shop and the last two are learning skills about lathe work. Qubra is sweeper by profession. She successfully completed a loan from Asasah, a microfinance institution in Pakistan. She has now applied for a loan to buy three wheel vehicles called auto-rickshaws.

Shabana wants a loan to start a meat business. Anwar baji and Shamim baji want loans to buy rickshaws, and Rashida baji wants a loan to start her gas slender shop.

This is a group loan. The loan funds will be distributed among the group members, each of whom will invest in her own business. The members mutually guarantee one another's loans. If one member does not repay, the other members are responsible.



About Group Loans
In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a group of individuals bound by a group guarantee.
