Faauluuluga is a mother of three, living in the village of Siumu, doing a German bun business, and supplying them to Palalaua College in her village. She makes a 120 German buns a day, but that doesn't satisfy the high of demand from the students every day. Her main goal is to hire 3 women in her village to help her provide a level of customer-friendly service that exceeds her clients’ expectations, and to supply as many German buns as needed by the clients, because she now realizes that she’s also getting orders from the families in her village. But to achieve her goal, she needs to budget her time wisely with her business and her children, with the help of her husband.

Bakery seeing profits go up!

Entrepreneur: Faauluuluga Schmidt
Location: Siumu, Samoa

After using her loan (her fifth from SPBD) to repair her house and to extend her house to include a place for her to do her baking and selling, Faauluuluga has seen her profits rise from $500 WST ($200 USD) per week to $300-400 WST ($120-160 USD). She uses the earnings to help support her family by paying for groceries, church donations, and school fees for her children. She has 4 children and 3 of them are currently attending school. Faauluuluga plans to apply for more loans in the future and hopes to open a retail shop.
