New Chickens! Entrepreneur: Sarswati Khatri Location: Sainbubhaishepati, Nepal With the help of her Kiva loan, Ms. Khatri has diversified her farm with the purchase of chickens. While she initially planned to purchase new goats, she decided that an investment in chickens would be more profitable. In a couple of months Ms. Khatri will sell the chickens and then reinvest the profits in additional chicks. She plans to continue expanding both her goat and chicken operation. Ms. Khatri says she has been busy researching how best to care for chickens and is hopeful that this new venture will bring her family additional income. Her two children continue to study in a nearby school and her husband's work as an electrician has been steady.
