This committee is in its second round of the Committee of Enterprising Women Program. The Committee of Enterprising Women was developed by Fundación Paraguaya as a communal bank that offers credit to enterprising women. This program was formed with consideration for the economic, social, and personal needs of the poorest women in the country.

The group is made up of women who, beyond managing their households, also work to earn extra income. Some of these activities include: selling food, sheets, pots and pans, glasses, plates, drinks, jewelry, and clothes, among others.

In order to continue improving their earnings, these women are asking for a loan to purchase more merchandise to sell. These products will increase their earnings and savings for their children’s’ future, which is the principal motivation of these women.

Translated from Spanish by Sarah Bishop, Kiva Volunteer.
