Loan Update Entrepreneur: Khat Ny Location: Prey Veng Province, Cambodia Khat Ny, 31, lives in Prey Veng, Cambodia with her husband and three children. Khat makes rice wine, and her husband drives a motorbike-taxi. At the time they received their loan, they made $2 and $4 respectively. Khat requested a loan so she could purchase a trailer for her husband to use with his motorbike. A CREDIT MFI loan officer recently visited Khat to check on her progress. After receiving her loan, Khat bought a new motorbike and trailer for her husband. With his new carrying capacity, her husband was able to double his previous income. The family used the extra money to purchase pigs to raise and sell. Khat said her standard of living has significantly improved as a result of this loan. Khat said that in the future, she would like to focus more on raising pigs, and would like to take out another loan to support this business. When asked, Khat said she was thankful to CREDIT for its good service, and to Kiva lenders for supporting her loan.
